Every forward-looking chapter then follows the same five moves: where the field stands in 2026, who is working on it, what the next decade plausibly holds, the second-order effects most analyses skip, and what could go wrong.

Forecasts are tagged near-term likely, plausible, or wild, and the tiers are used strictly. Where a chapter cannot honestly claim one, it says so.
